Senior running back Davis Basden carried the ball 24 times for 256 yards and three rushing touchdowns in Arendell Parrott’s 56-35 road win over Rocky Mount Academy in the season opener. Basden also added seven receptions for 113 yards and two more touchdowns as the Patriots defeated the two-time defending state champions.
