Three senior captains scored on Senior Night for Parrott Academy varsity soccer Wednesday night, leading APA to a 3-0 shutout over visiting Oakwood School. Jason Farsaie scored in the 38th minute off of a feed from fellow senior Alex Henderson to stake the Patriots (8-11-1 overall) to a 1-0 halftime lead. Farsaie returned the favor as Henderson cut to goal in the 49th minute to up the lead to 2-0. And in the 70th minute, on his final touch as a four-year varsity player, Parrott's all-time leading scorer Zacchaeus Rasberry (57 total goals), playing for the first time in over three weeks, scored from a Farsaie assist to complete the scoring. Also playing in their last varsity games were seniors Ryan Eldred, Connor Griggs, and Tristan Rudolph. Parrott outshot the Eagles 16-7, with APA goalkeeper Michael Mikhail making four saves for his sixth shutout of the season. The Patriots did not qualify for the NCISAA 2A state playoffs, so the win ended Parrott's season. "I am extremely proud of how our team fought through some difficult challenges this season, but held together and continued to improve," said Coach Steve Logan. "And our seniors' willingness to work hard and lead by example set the proper tone throughout the season. It has been an honor this season to be a part of such a great group of players."
