Parrott Academy recorded its third consecutive shutout Thursday evening, handing visiting Rocky Mount Academy a 2-0 defeat at Dumas Field in Kinston.
APA junior Chauncey Kendall scored in the 27th minute unassisted, as the ball hit the underside of the crossbar and bounded down behind the goal line.
In the second half, senior captain Alex Henderson notched a goal in the 67th minute, blasting home a penalty kick from the spot.
Teammate Ryan Eldred earned the penalty after hustling in the penalty area for a loose ball and was taken down.
APA goalkeeper Michael Mikhail made five saves as the Patriots outshot the Eagles, 17-10.
Parrott turns right around and hosts NCISAA 2A defending state champs St. David's School Friday at 4:00pm.
