Winning its second consecutive game, both shutouts, the APA varsity soccer team dominated play today in New Bern at Epiphany School, posting a 2-0 victory.
Senior Patriot Zacchaeus Rasberry, from a sophomore Trey Kuhn assist, scored in the 27th minute. Kuhn now has three assists in the last two games.
In the second half, after Pats' senior Ryan Eldred was tripped down in the penalty area, and senior Alex Henderson calmly stepped up and scored the penalty kick.
APA goalkeeper Michael Mikhail made three saves to drop his GAA in five games to 2.44. APA outshot the hosts 27-3. Mikhail, a junior, even had a shot on goal from just past midfield on a direct kick.
Parrott next squares off at home Thursday versus Rocky Mount Academy at 6:00pm.
