APA's varsity soccer team tied visiting Coastal Christian High School of Wilmington Thursday night, 6-6, in a thrilling, back-and-forth two OT Coastal River Conference match. Junior Zacchaeus Rasberry led the Patriots with four goals, including a penalty kick to put the Pats ahead 6-5 in the the 2nd OT, and classmate Jason Farsaie added two goals, earning APA a hard-fought draw which brings its overall record to 11-4-3 (4-3-2 CRC). The visitors outshot the Pats, 17-11, as APA GKs Connor Griggs and Jackson Miller combined to make seven saves. Also earning assists for the Patriots were Alex Henderson, Holt Kendall, and Tristan Rudolph. APA next plays Tuesday at home versus Harrells Christian Academy on Senior Night, when the Patriots will honor their four seniors: Kendall, Mclean Piner, Ward Sylvester, and Austin Willman.
