APA senior tri-captain Holt Kendall notched a goal and two assists in the Patriots' 6-0 shutout win over host Harrells CA Thursday. Kendall assisted on Parrott's opening goal, scored by junior Zacchaeus Rasberry, in the seventh minute and then crossed the ball from the left corner where fellow senior tri-captain Mclean Piner blasted home a one-timer to end the first half at 4-0. Rasberry added another goal in the second half off a pass from sophomore Will Alexander-Lee, while senior tri-captain Ward Sylvester also scored into the upper corner on a 25-yard strike in the 17th minute. APA sophomore Drew Vithalani netted his first varsity goal from freshman Jubal Mcbeth in the 23rd minute, knocking a carom off the crossbar. On defense, junior Tristan Rudolph and sophomore Jackson Miller played well. The Patriots outshot HCA 24-2, as APA goalkeeper Michael Mikhail, who has allowed 1.3 goals per game in 2014, earned his fourth shutout of the season. APA stands at 1-1 in the Coastal River Conference and 7-2-1 overall. Parrott's next match is at Cape Fear Academy in Wilmington on Thursday at 5:30 pm.
