APA ended the UNCG soccer camp on a high note, earning a spot in the 7v7 tourney final (out of 36 teams). The Patriots eventually lost to Northwest (Guilford) 3-1 in the championship, but stellar goalkeeping from sophomore Michael Mikhail and key goals from Ward Sylvester, Mclean Piner, Austin Willman, Jason Farsaie, and Alex Henderson led APA to the top of its group with a 4-1-2 record. Senior Michael Finizio also contributed, playing solid defense. The Patriots, led by coaches Steve Logan and Shivar Person, gained valuable experience throughout the four-day camp. Parrott won one game and lost two, with its match versus Greensboro Day School cancelled due to lightning. Also, Sylvester, Piner, and Mikhail played in the camp All-Star game. Other players attending camp included Tristan Rudolph, Ryan Eldred (goal, assist) Charles Arthur, Drew Vithalani (goal), Parker Rudolph, John Hayden Sylvester, Spencer Matthews, and Anton Hnatov. APA attended the camp, coordinated by UNCG soccer coach Justin Maullin (CarolinaSoccerCamps.com), for the 19th time. The Patriots begin training on campus Aug. 4 at 8:30 a.m., with the annual alumni game scheduled for Thursday, Aug. 7 at 6:30 p.m. Parrott begins the season Aug. 14, 15, 16 at the Greenfield Tournament in Wilson.
