CARY, NC – Parrott Academy put on another solid performance on the gridiron Monday night as the Patriots rolled past the Cary Christian School Knights by a 62-24 final.
Parrott once again got off to a fast start thanks in part to running back Davis Basden. Basden scored three touchdowns on his first three carries of the night and helped the Patriots to a 36-8 lead after just one quarter of action.
In the second quarter, Parrott added two more touchdowns highlighted by Basden’s fourth touchdown of the contest as the Patriots took a 50-8 lead into halftime.
After the break, Parrott would tack on two more scores and cruise to the 38-point victory.
Basden carried the ball seven times for 245 yards. Quarterback Connor Bright was 4-for-7 for 57 yards while Zach Vendemia had two carries for 33 yards and a score along with 4-of-6 passing for 61 yards. On defense, Matthew Chappell had eight tackles along with a sack and interception and Cole Daniels collected five tackles with a forced fumble and an interception return for a touchdown.
With the win, Parrott improved their record to 8-1 on the year and will finish up the regular season at home this Friday against Southampton Academy.
